What is Exchange-Based Routing?
Fonebox’s Exchange-Based Routing system enables you to select particular exchanges, including fixed line and mobile, and automatically route calls made from those locations to the most suitable destination to be answered. This provides callers with a better experience as they are intuitively connected with a location that is local and convenient for them. You can also nominate for particular exchanges to be directed through to your Head Office or our Phone Answering Service.
If you operate in regional areas where you only have one place of business in a broad region, Exchange-Based Routing gives you the ability to route calls originating in the border region directly to your nearest place of business.
What’s an Exchange?
An exchange, also known as a Telephone Exchange, is a system that connects telephone lines between callers. Telephone numbers that share the same geographical location share the same exchange.
How does Exchanged-Based Routing work?
You simply supply a list of your store locations and we’ll work with you to establish an exchange database. Alternatively, you can specify a list of postcodes or suburbs you’d like routed to each store. After which, all inbound calls will automatically be routed to a pre-designated location that is local and convenient for the caller. We can also incorporate Exchange-Based Routing into a Custom Routing Solution.
